> Gas supplies and metering
GEA can provide a total package for the provision of new gas supplies
to industrial and commercial sites, from assessing a suitable gas
supply connection through to the feasibility of converting equipment
to gas or provision of new plant.
We can also provide expertise in sizing and designing meter installations.
Feasibility studies can also be provided for international emerging
gas markets to determine gas potential and network design.
The larger gas suppliers are becoming energy suppliers offering
gas and electricity, and in some cases offering energy management
contracts to large users. Developing the gas market in the way British
Gas did is now of little interest, since most suppliers are happy
with existing contracts and their market share. Active encouragement
to pursue new gas loads or change over from other fuels is an unacceptable
"on cost". Technical support to existing or new gas users
is equally unacceptable in the current climate. Any additional services
must be reflected in the gas price.
Where can the gas user or potential gas user, get technical support,
unbiased advice and how does he navigate through the maze steps
required to get or develop his gas supply (as shown on the flow
chart), but also make sure he gets the best deal? Where can he get
the best advice on energy saving measures, particularly for increased
productivity?
Several separate companies can offer some parts of the jigsaw and
some can offer "one stop shop". All of this was done by
British Gas in the past, but as part of the gas price. Now it is
a chargeable service and more difficult to find.
GEA provide a “one-stop-shop” approach or can individually
tailor services to meet the customers needs. Most clients wish to
know that they can rely on a company to sort out all aspects of
a project from the initial feasibility studies, getting a gas supply,
through to project implementation and commissioning.
GEA can also provide network design and analysis and metering
expertise.
